What is 15% of 80?
Write 15% as 0.15, then multiply by 80. The answer is 12.

A rectangle is 7 cm long and 4 cm wide. What is its area?
Multiply length by width. A = 7 × 4 = 28 cm². Area uses square units.

A square has sides of 6 m. What is its perimeter?
Add the four equal sides. P = 4 × 6 = 24 m. Perimeter measures the distance around the edge.

What is the volume of a rectangular prism measuring 3 cm by 4 cm by 5 cm?
Multiply all three dimensions. V = 3 × 4 × 5 = 60 cm³. Volume uses cubic units.

How far do you travel at a constant 40 km/h for 1.5 hours?
Multiply rate by time. d = 40 × 1.5 = 60 km. The rate and time both use hours, so no time conversion is needed.
Now solve three on your own
Find 20% of 65; the area of an 8 cm by 3 cm rectangle; and the distance traveled at 50 km/h for 2 hours.
Answers
13; 24 cm²; 100 km.
